More Details: For sale is my 1974 datsun 260z race car. This car has been used in a number of 24 hours of lemons and chumpcar races over the last three years. There is a lot of work put into this car and almost nothing on it has gone untouched! When I bought the car it was not in working order, I then spent the better part of two years rebuilding the engine and replacing many of the components. Here is a brief list of what has been done to the car.
Engine:
-line honed main bearings
-honed cylinders
-replaced crankshaft
-faced header
-new cylinder heads/rings
-new bearings all around
-new harmonic balancer
-new oil pump
-new timing chain/tensioner
-new valves/springs
Replaced parts:
-ford ignition module
-chevy coil
-front sway bar
-bushings all around
-aluminum radiator
-brake master cylinder
-clutch master cylinder
-clutch slave
-fuel sender/ pressure regulator
-racing seat
-cryo-treated disc brakes up front
-drum breaks in back
-hawk high performance break pads
-wheel spacers
-full clutch kit
Like I said, I looked over and replaced almost everything on this car. If there is a part or component you are curious about that I left off the list please feel free to ask!
The only thing that was not touched was the transmission (other than fluid change), and it hasn’t given any problems.
This car is still running on the 72′ su carbs which work great! These were rebuilt by jeff winter of rallye sport in westminster co, who is known nationally for his work on datsun race cars.
Apart from all the time and work that went into this race car you will also be getting whole lot of goodies to go along with the car. The car will come with all the extra fluids and parts that I have acquired along the way. This includes a donor set of su carbs complete with breather box and intake manifold as well as a brand new set of tires and wheels. When I say brand new set of tires I mean brand new. I bought them a little over a month ago for a race I just went to in arizona, and didn’t end up using them at all. They have never been put on a vehicle.
Inside the car comes equip with a full roll cage which is to lemons and chump specifications, a full fire suppression system, a digital gauge cluster which reads rpm, speed, fuel, water temp, and voltage, as well as a nrg racing seat with harness.
This car is race ready for auto-cross or any lemons and chump race. It drives well and is firmly planted giving the driver more control in turns.
The z has given me some great memories and has been a great car, but I am moving from colorado and cannot take it with me.
