This 1974 Datsun 260Z is finished in Emerald Green Metallic over a tan interior and powered by a rebuilt 2.6-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired in Washington and relocated to Canada in 2009, and the interior, exterior, engine, and suspension were refurbished over the following year. Equipment includes dual carburetors, 14″ slotted wheels, refinished bumpers and trim, an alarm, and power door locks. An oil change was most recently performed in 2020. This 260Z is now offered in British Columbia, Canada, with service records, manufacturer’s literature, and British Columbia registration. The exterior was refinished in Emerald Green Metallic (303) in September 2009 and features re-chromed bumpers with replacement rubber impact strips, repainted and polished badges, and LED side marker lights. Rust under the battery tray was repaired in 2009, and replacement weather stripping was installed. The seller notes that the windshield has two chips.
Slotted 14″ alloy wheels wear a mixed set of Warrior front and BF Goodrich rear tires that were mounted under prior ownership and in 2011, respectively. Polyurethane bushings and KYB front struts were installed under current ownership, suspension components were sandblasted and finished in black. The braking system was overhauled with Toyota dual-piston front calipers, rotors, and pads as well as a replacement master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, and shoes. The wheel bearings were replaced during the refurbishment work along with the ball joints and tie rod ends. The cabin features seats upholstered in tan vinyl with matching door panels. During the refurbishment under current ownership, the seats were recovered and the shift knob, weather stripping, and carpets were replaced. The car is equipped with a Viper alarm that operates power door locks, which were installed under prior ownership. The factory AM/FM stereo is present but the car does not have speakers, and provisions for an aftermarket head unit are installed under the driver’s seat. Cracks are noted in the dashboard. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, and additional gauges are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The seller notes that the tachometer works intermittently and the clock does not function. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles. The 2.6-liter inline-six was bored 0.030″ over, balanced, and rebuilt under current ownership. The head was resurfaced, the crankshaft was polished, a valve job was performed, and the following components were replaced:
* Distributor
* 240Z-spec intake manifold
* Carburetors replaced with 240Z-spec units from ZTherapy
* Flat-top pistons
* Connecting rods
* Bearings
* Water pump
* Oil pump
* Fuel pump
* Thermostat
* Fan Clutch
* Starter
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service under current ownership included the replacement of the clutch, throwout bearing, clutch master and slave cylinders, transmission seals, and hydraulic lines, along with a differential fluid service. The car is equipped with a ceramic-coated header, stainless-steel exhaust system, and a Flowmaster muffler. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
Manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and spare and removed parts are included in the sale.
