The story I got from the owner is that her boyfriend bought the car when he got back from Vietnam and drove it back to Wisconsin. She didn’t say when, but he passed away and she was left with the car. She never drove it because of the stick shift. I saw it one day in the garage and stopped in to talk to her. I didn’t know it, but she baby sat me when I was little. I offered to buy the car and after a few weeks, she called me and we made the deal. It had not been licensed or on the road since at least 1994, so I trailored it home. I pulled the plugs and lubricated the cylinders, drained the engine oil, drained the gas (full tank of the worst smelling stuff ever). I bought a new battery, put in fresh oil and gas. I cranked it over to lubricate the engine without the coil wire on it and it sounded good and even. I put the coil wire back on and I cranked it over for about 10 seconds, it took three times and it started! It just sat there and purred. I don’t have time to finish it, and it is too small for me. May be interested in trades but prefer cash. It is the late model which has the same bumpers as the 280Z which makes it very rare because the 260Z was made for one year only. The 260Z has 2 SU downdraft carbs which were changed to Bosch fuel injection for the 280Z. The odometer shows 9k and the lady swears that is original miles. In my opinion, it could be 9K, but is more likely 109k but who knows. I know she was not trying to deceive me, but she only knows what she knows. The original color was grey, but for some reason it was painted green. The interior is in great shape, but the dash is cracked (common) and the drivers seat has a hole on upper edge. The car is very clean as far as rust goes. It does however have some minor body work on the passenger rear behind the door. I was told that it happened while in the garage and her son tried his hand at the repair. Not very good, but an easy fix.
